Why it’s for sale It’s time to downsize from this mother-daughter home. “It’s two beautiful houses in one, but it’s just too big,” says Rosemarie, 56,a homemaker.
About five years ago, Rosemarie and Gaspare, 59, a supervisor for the New York City Housing Authority, added a second floor to this house to create a mother/daughter residence. (The new owners will have to apply for a new permit.) The house, which is on a 179-by-113-foot corner parcel with a seven-car circular driveway, features wood floors, high-hat lighting, central air conditioning and a central intercom system. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Rosemarie has this to say about the master suite, kitchen and neighborhood:
“The master is tremendous. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, a shower and a bidet … The kitchen is loaded. I designed it with an architect. It has a center island, cherrywood cabinets, granite countertops, an Italian imported backsplash, a double wall convection oven, a dishwasher and stainless steel appliances … We are in the Dogwood section of Franklin Square and are centrally located. We are near everything and the school district is excellent … I hate to leave.”
