Etsy awarded prizes to third-party developers as part of its Handmade Code Contest and it also launched an Apps gallery containing a directory of over 30 third-party applications created for Etsy buyers and sellers.
The contest winner in the Seller Tools category was Etsy on Sale, which allows sellers to place all or part of their shop items on sale with a few clicks; sale items are also promoted on the Etsy On Sale website. Etsy on Sale is currently free, with over 4,000 registered Etsy shops over 35,000 items listed on sale each day.
Etsy Vintage Timeline won the Buyer Tools category (it arranges vintage listings by date so you can see how things have changed over the years), and Etsy Lovers won the Mobile Apps category.
The three category winners won grand prizes of $5,000 each. Etsy also awarded $500 each to runners up.
Etsy Catalog, Etsy Text and ShipRush for Etsy were runners up in the Seller Tools category.
Favoritizer was runner up in the Buyers Tools category, and Craftsy won in Mobile Apps. More information about the winners and all contest entries is available on Etsy.
