A man was shot in the chest in his Box Avenue home Saturday morning, police said.

Police identified the victim as Gregory B. Bates, 34, who was listed in critical condition in Erie County Medical Center late Saturday.

According to police, two men entered Bates’ home and began arguing with him. Bates was shot once in the chest. His attackers fled out the back door.
