Because the installation is quicker and more straightforward than conventional panels and because there is no mess and disruption and no unsightly cables to mar the finished job Stockport Fire have been able to install SRC 3000 in country houses including Grade I and II listed buildings where it is important not to affect the fabric of the buildings.

The wireless fire alarms have also been fitted into 40 new build apartments in Didsbury village and modular office blocks for Manchester City Council whilst the ease of re-using them when no longer required has also meant that they are ideal for the other end of the installation spectrum including in builders portacabins on temporary construction sites.

Stockport Fire has been offering fire protection services for 18 years and put their continuing success down to the service they provide to all their customers and also to selecting and using only quality products that are fit for purpose. They swear by Detectomat’s SRC 3000 multi-purpose, bi-directional radio control panel, a wire-free alternative to conventional fire panels.

The control panel offers an ideal solution for smaller commercial and industrial applications. Whereas a conventional system may take 10 days to install, the Detectomat system takes typically only 10 hours. A definite bonus, particularly in listed buildings is that there is no need for the installation of wiring which would damage solid walls and decoration. And because all the detectors have integral sounders, the Wireless detect system does not require the installation of separate sounder circuits. Furthermore, because there is no need for cabling, labour costs and mess are kept to the minimum.

Graham Weatherhead, Stockport Fire Protection’s Fire Alarm Manager “The principle I work to is, would I allow the same thing at home? It’s just as important that the finished job is perfect in a temporary portacabin as it is in an office or factory. Detectomat’s SRC 3000 gives us so many advantages and it’s an additional bonus that it is such good value for money.”

The SRC 3000 can be used virtually anywhere as long as a radio signal can be received.
