Johnson listed by Leeds

Leeds have placed Bradley Johnson on the transfer list after the midfielder turned down the club’s final new contract offer.

The 23-year-old’s current deal is due to expire next summer but, after the two parties failed to reach agreement, the former Northampton winger will be allowed to leave in January if another club tables an acceptable offer.

Chief executive Shaun Harvey said: “We’re disappointed Bradley has not accepted our offer but we were pleased to be assured we can count on his 100% commitment while he is a player at this club.”

Leeds signed Johnson from Northampton in January 2008 for an undisclosed fee and although he went on loan to Brighton at the end of that year, he returned to Elland Road and cemented his place in Simon Grayson’s first-team plans.
