$31.5 million home drops off the market

An oceanfront home for sale in North Laguna Beach dropped off the market recently.

It also happened to have been the second most expensive home for sale in the coveted beach community and was among the priciest homes for sale in Orange County.

The stunning home formerly listed for sale in the exclusive Irvine Cove Abalone Point community initially asking $40 million (later reduced over time too $31.5 million) was taken off the market by an owner who had a change of heart.

Listing agent Rod Daley of Coldwell Banker said the sprawling, ocean-view home at 2665 Riviera Drive was a “popular home with multiple, multiple offers,” but the owner eventually decided he loved the home so much, he decided not to sell it after all.

Daley said the owner asked himself why he was leaving the home after all the positive reinforcement he heard about such an “architectural masterpiece.”

And, architectural masterpiece it truly is.

The home has 5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 10,800 square feet of living space on a .53-acre lot, a pool, a media/music room, a wine cellar and more.

The listing description once said: “Incomparable private Irvine Cove Abalone Point oceanfront home on over 1/2 acre w/mortorcourt, pool, whitewater and panoramic ocean views, walls of glass, and a beautiful Mark Singer design. Total quality of materials and workmanship.”

Daley said he is happy for the owner and enjoyed working with the listing.

This home even made the list for Top 10 Coolest Beach Homes in the country.

I think I’d stay in it, too!
